Mobile Game UI Design Certificate Program
A practical eight-month journey into crafting interfaces that players actually want to use. We focus on the design decisions that matter when you're working against tiny screens and short attention spans.
Get Program DetailsReal Interface Design for Mobile Games
Most people think mobile game UI is just about making things look pretty. But here's the truth – it's about understanding how thumbs work, how people make split-second decisions, and why some buttons get tapped while others get ignored.
Over the past three years, we've watched students go from basic mockups to building interfaces that actual studios want. Not because they memorized design theory, but because they learned to think like players while designing like professionals.
You'll work with Unity's UI system and Figma – the same tools our instructors use for client projects. And you'll make plenty of mistakes in a space where those mistakes don't cost anyone money or user retention.
Eight Months, Six Core Modules
We built this program around what studios actually need. Each module connects to the next, and by month five, you're working on portfolio pieces that look like professional work.
Mobile UI Fundamentals
Touch targets, safe zones, resolution considerations, and why Android design differs from iOS in ways that actually matter.
Player Psychology
Attention economy basics, progression visibility, reward feedback loops, and when to show players what they need versus what they want.
Unity UI Implementation
Canvas systems, anchoring that actually works across devices, animation curves, and building interfaces that perform well on older phones.
Monetization Interfaces
Store design, pricing presentation, purchase flow optimization, and designing offers that feel valuable without feeling manipulative.
Onboarding Systems
First-time user experience, tutorial flows, contextual help, and getting players to core gameplay before they lose interest.
Portfolio Development
Case study documentation, design rationale writing, prototype presentation, and positioning your work for Australian and international opportunities.

Next Intake: October 2025
Classes run Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with Saturday workshops twice a month. We keep groups small because individual feedback matters more than lecture-hall efficiency. Applications open in July, and we typically fill spots by late August.
